It’s been exactly one year since my now husband proposed to me in the most perfect and romantic way. The last year has been such a whirlwind, and so much has happened! So to start off this new era of content, I’m throwing it back to May 29, 2022 – the day we got engaged.
Brandon’s mom and sister came into town for what I thought was a birthday celebration for my now-mother-in-law. Little did I know, my parents were in town, too, and my closest friends were also in on the surprise!
When I arrived at the beach, I thought I was there for a Memorial Day air show. But after I made it to the sand, I was SHOOK to see a group of recognizable faces that included my mom and dad! * cue the waterworks*
Brandon played our song on the speaker, Best Part by H.E.R. and Daniel Caesar, as I walked up the pink carpet to the floral arch that Brandon and my friends built on the beach earlier that day. He looked me in the eyes, and just like that, everyone and every thing else simply disappeared. It felt like he and I had the entire beach to ourselves! He got down on one knee and said those four magic words, “Will you marry me?”
My answer was an immediate and enthusiastic, “yes!” And that is how the next chapter of our new adventure began.
